New antique store opened in town

They had me at the rooster. Introducing Oviedo's newest antique store, The Coop.  I was hoping The Coop had finally opened and took my chances today while running errands at lunch.  Voila! The great part about this new little store is that it is right around the corner from Hidden Treasures, Oviedo's largest antique store. Hidden Treasures just relocated to a huge space downtown. Both owners are still staging their shops and adding vendors, so I only was able to snap a few photos. I'll be back though for more. Did I mention there are also two great thrift shops within walking distance?  This is great news for this local gal and her crafty friends.
This vintage typewriter was priced to sell. She almost came home with me today. I don't have any space for her at the moment in my office/studio, but I'm working on that.  For now, she is just on the wish list.
This little cutie pie is a favorite of my talented friend, Kelly, who runs Gongy and Squish on Etsy. She is still too much, Kel.  Hang in there! I'm not sure anyone is going to cut the price on a chippy, orange, wooden vintage bucket before Halloween is over though!  Can you picture this filled with your Halloween candy? I'd love to put some Mums in it for fall.
This pie safe has been refurbished and the doors have beautiful punched tin panels. So chippy and pretty. The price was very fair on this too.  Both stores consistently had good prices and an abundance of sale items.

Mama like...I'm drawn to rusty, metal industrial or farm kinda junk.  This vintage garage storage piece is so cool. It would make a really neat studio storage piece for someone.  Checkout that color!
Last but not least...this cute little vintage Basset Hound.  I am ALWAYS on the hunt for vintage Basset Hound figurines, prints, Avon bottles, etc.  He was a little too pricey today but the good news is I don't think there is too much competition in small town Oviedo for a collector of vintage Basset Hound figurines (in this case). I bet he'll be added to my collection at the right price in the near future.  I'll snap some pictures of the shops and my favorite vendor's spaces once both shops are completely organized.  I can't wait! I'm linking to Coastal Charm and Nifty Thrifty Tuesday!

  2. There are two annual church rummage sales right in that area too and an event called "Great Day in the Country." I'm so happy I'm only five minutes away. I could pinch myself.

I love the garage storage piece! Camille got me a black teapot for my upcoming birthday at the flea market yesterday. I also found four yards of handmade lace from the 1940s!

  17. Thanks so much for visiting, commenting and following. Love your blog name. You had me at rooster. I have quite a few roaming about this house. That basset hound is too cute. He needs to come home with you. I like dog figurines, too. Some of them are so pricey. Adding myself as a follower, too.

  19. A few weeeks ago I lucked out with a grab bag that included a dog from, I think, the same era as your vintage basset hound. Come over and see if you agree. I like that you are not afraid to say when things are over priced, but in such a nice way.

  20. Kim - you would think I have a house full of roosters with the blog name but I don't. Isn't that funny. I do love them and our town is full of them. Anne- our antique stores need your staging skills. lol Dogsmom - I think I see him hidden way down in that grab bag. Thanks for stopping by ladies.
