Jack and Kara helped put all of our favorite decorations on the tree this year. Just like you and I, the kids love opening the boxes and finding their favorite ornaments from Christmas past. Many were made with their own hands.
A few of you may have noticed that the tree is in my studio. This room was our formal living room and always the home of our tree. So, we moved a few things and slid over my studio table to create room. I'll show you a full tree shot in my next post. For now, I need to keep an eye on these two "Santa's helpers" who are very interested in the ornaments and the tree.
Don't be fooled by those eyes. These two can be trouble! That cute little white one ate a glass ornament a few years back on Christmas Eve. In case you didn't know, a few cotton balls dipped in heavy cream or melted ice cream taste really good to a basset hound and on the way out, they pick up all the tiny pieces of glass! lol I hope you don't have to test this method over the holidays!
Such cute pictures of your kids decorating. Thanks for the tip about the cottonballs. I will try to remember that one. You never know what those furry babies will eat. Yours are so cute with those sad eyes. Happy HOlidays.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful, as are all of your helpers! That is Florida at it's best; decorating the tree while wearing shorts! And a Santa hat, or course. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am filing the cotton ball tip in the things I hope I never need to know category; nothing my little monsters get into would surprise me!
Looking forward to the full tree picture! Have a happy day!
xo, Anita
Your house looks so warm and inviting. I never know a dog would eat glass...I guess it should not surprise me. So far my dog is behaving. But we used to have a cat who loved to eat bows. He would just sit there and chew and chew until the bows were a tattered skeleton of a bow. We finally gave up and stopped putting bows on our Christmas presents. That cat is long gone now so we have pretty packages again. : )
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family!
I was told that I ate a glass ball when I was about 3! They said they fed me lots of bread. Hope those sweet puppies don't give you any trouble this year.
ReplyDeleteToo Cute! We had to literally put a baby gate around our tree this year because our bassets like to eat our cherished ornaments as well! The basset breed is super mischievous and love to be in the middle of everything! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty! and how innocent those two look! Ouch, glass eaters! Who would have thought?
ReplyDeleteWishing you a most beautiful Christmas
Blessings

ReplyDeleteI love this post! Your kids are precious. Don't you just want to wrap your hands around each moment right now & let it never go away? That's how I feel. Mine are 6 now & Christmas gets better every year. My grandparents had a basset hound named Hilda & I've loved them ever since. How can you resist that face!
Have a wonderful holiday sweet friend! Be safe, eat a lot & enjoy the day!
