Holiday decor - Oh Deer!

The holiday open houses are starting around town.  This one was right down the street at Hidden Treasures. I LOVE this old wooden box.  I picture it next to the tree filled with presents.
This little wagon would look great by the front door or on the patio with a tree inside.  I've resisted so far.  By the way, pictures tonight via the Iphone...not so bad!
Love this lantern!  I tried to pick her up for a closer look but she was nice and heavy. My hands were already full.  I bet she went home with someone tonight.....I sound catty and jealous don't I?
It is not a holiday open house unless someone breaks a glass ornament, right?! lol  There were some really fun ones here and oh so pretty. Fortunately, nothing broken during our visit.
These were hilarious.  I can't believe I have not seen these before. Pink flamingos all decked out for Xmas.
And finally, contrary to popular blogger belief...not EVERYTHING looks good painted white.  I could see those whiskers a mile away! This guy was a hot mess.  lol  I have seem some really cute ones on Pinterest with glitter and bling.  This one looks like the guy at the office Xmas party you try to avoid.  Sorry, my "deer."

I'll share my purchases with you soon.  Until next time! xoxo

Great Day in the Country

It sure was a Great Day in the Country!  Saturday was our town's annual craft fair. The weather could not have been better. It was a cool 50 degrees to start out and warmed up to the mid 70's.  There was not a cloud in the sky.
Kara and I got an early start. We were inside the fair before the 9:00 start so we could get in line at our favorite booth - Tuckers.  The owner always seems to have something great with rusty old wheels. They sell out quick. This year we were lucky enough to score this adorable barrel above. I plan to use it by the front door and put a Charlie Brown Christmas tree inside.  Like her?  They also had these great wagons. I grabbed a few for my friends who were still parking.
Here are a few more Christmas goodies from this great booth.  I love this altered skate and suitcase below.
These signs are really cute too. Made from old cabinet doors.  Some still had the latches.  Hard to take pics with so many people trying to grab the merchandise!

Just like in blogland, there were tons of fabric pumpkins to choose from at the fair.  Here are a few that I found interesting and thought might inspire you.

How about this gorgeous three dimensional stained glass with vintage glassware built in?  Amazing and just gorgeous out there in the sun.

We always have to stop and visit the local honey vendor.  Kids love the honey sticks. This booth is a favorite at our farmer's market too.

Found some good Christmas gifts at this next booth. Too crowded for pictures but managed a few!

I hope you enjoyed coming along.  This weekend is Renningers.  I need to replenish some supplies. I always find great bottles, books and jewelry pieces at this antique fair.  I'll be sure to take you along again.  Christmas craft coming next.  Get ready to alter some bottle brush trees and bottles!

Oviedo Farmers Market - Happy 4th!

We kicked of July 4th weekend with a visit to our town's first farmers market. I am so excited we are going to have our own market the first Saturday of each month.  I think they had a great turn out too.  We had produce, local honey, spices and jellies, plants, herbs and even antiques from my favorite local store.

My Dad is going to be so happy I got him that jar of watermelon rind jelly.  He has been craving it and this will make a great surprise.  There was even a band playing some country music for us as we checked out the vendors. I hope to get more pics next time. I was too busy exploring!
Hope your 4th has a real home town feel.  I love the parades and fireworks shows. We always gather with friends and the kids have a pie eating contest.  Here's one of my favorite pics from a past fourth celebration.
That's Jack second from the left and Kara with the white t-shirt second from the right. This was 2008. Can you tell who won? lol  That would be Cooper celebrating in the middle. Have a safe weekend.  Until next time...xoxo

Blogger lunch at Sweet Peas

Hello! I had the pleasure of getting together for lunch with some Central Florida bloggers this week.  What a treat to spend a few hours with like minded souls.  In this photo starting at the top left - Me, Kathy (blog stalker, thrifter, booth owner) and Carol of The Polka Dot Closet. Now bottom left, Shelley of Sweet Pea Home, Karen Sue of Sue Bee and Butterflies and Susie of From my home to yours.  Behind the camera on this shot (BIG THANK YOU) is Sylvia of My Trinkets.

We got together at Shelley's for lunch and good conversation. These gals are bloggers, junkers, artists, trend setters, collectors and decorators. What is there not to like?  Shelley was kind enough to host us at her home this time.  As I mentioned before, Shelley's gorgeous home has been featured in professional photo shoots. She has a self described style that is French farmhouse with a bit of industrial and shabby. I think we all agreed that you could just spend hours studying her vignettes.  Shelley didn't mind if we did just that.  Thank you for being such a gracious hostess.  You were so kind to let us all wander about your home with our cameras snapping photos!

Have you thought about organizing a lunch or happy hour for your local bloggers? We plan to do this again soon.  I've offered to host the next one.  Everyone can bring their cameras and take pictures of my kids art on the fridge, my folded laundry on the washer and two basset hounds sprawled out on the couch taking up all the seating! lol  I certainly enjoyed seeing Shelley's lovely home but meeting these gals was the best part.  xoxo  I hope you will take a minute and visit each of their links . They really do inspire me, and I truly enjoy reading each of their blogs.  I know you will too.  Hope you are having a great week! Linking this post to-

Art Angels Arts and Antique Market Part Two

Are you ready to see some more shots from my recent trip to Art Angels?  We really enjoyed this store. I love this booth above with the gates and windows.
This is the first store in Orlando where I've actually seen antlers for sale.  They were in several booths.
I loved this old rusty mirror. I probably should have brought it home with me, but the piles of "projects" I have right now in the studio are already overwhelming!  I need to make some progress on what I have first.
My sweet friend Kim bought this great stamp holder.  The stamps had some sweet sentiments on them too which was a pleasant surprise.

My friend Jodi and I were in love with these barn doors. Aren't they great?!  Wish I had a place for one of them. My friend Kelley found this great fence piece below. She plans to layer it with a paper wreath or something similar.
A few more purchases my blue lantern (I have a small collection) and Jodi's fun loot.  We need to find her a giant cloche now!

What a great store. We will definitely be back. Some regulars told us that they turn their merchandise quickly so there is always something new to see. That is music to my ears!  I hope you get your hands dirty this week while working on a new project.  I have a few new creations I'm working on and one with Kara. I can't wait to share. Until then...xoxo!
