Decorating this weekend

The day job and kids sports schedule has been hectic this past week.  So, we plan to decorate for Xmas this weekend. I'll be snapping lots of pictures for you. We have our live tree in the stand and boxes of clutter all over the living room and dining room! I could not help myself though and had to open a few boxes this morning to find a few pics to share. We decorate with handmade ornaments by me and treasures the kids have made over the years. It warms my heart and makes for the most sentimental tree. I'm looking forward to opening the boxes and seeing all the favorites.  Here are a few of my handmade ornaments for the tree this year.

I love to alter vintage cookie cutters. The kids do too. I'll post a few of my daughter's, once I find them all, along with some of the sentimental favorites they've made over the years. You know the hand print wreaths, thumbprint on a construction paper circle from pre-school? lol I love those! I like to add a few tags as well, like this one. I'm still crazy for my paper projects -
I've learned keeping it simple is what I like most. You know you can expect to see a few recent projects on my tree this year too, like these PB copy cats
and these vintage mason jar lids that I made recently -
I have some fun "garland" that I plan to use this year.  I'll share that idea with you this weekend. I'd like to make a tree topper out of a paper wreath and cone but the husband wants our old lit star.  We'll see who wins that battle! lol  I bet time will win and that star may be shining bright by Sunday!  Take care sweet friends. I wanted to get a quick post up so that I can join the fun at these linky parties today!

  3. Oh Vicki I adore those cookie cutter ornaments ( OK that's true of all of them but I haven't seen the cookie cutter ones before). My house is currently in the "Christmas threw up" stage ( sorry for any weak stomachs) with bins everywhere and about 1/2 decorated. We get our main tree tonight! Can't wait to see what I know will be your beautiful decor.
