I've been wanting to make or buy matching burlap table runners for my dining room table and buffet. I thought about a no sew option, but I wanted mine to be lined. I also wanted a ruffle or lace on the ends. After pricing materials and considering that sewing myself meant I had to sew in straight line for nearly eight feet (lol), I began to search Etsy! I found the help of The Vintage Drawer. I contacted Myra and discussed the sizes and lace options. She had the final product in my hands within a week! Thanks, Myra!
So, I have the new drapes installed (so excited!) and new table runners in the dining room. I'll do a photo shoot in the sunshine and daylight tomorrow. I can't wait to share.
I've started to decorate for Easter. We have the whole family over usually for Easter dinner. It is on my birthday this year. Think they'll do the dishes for me? lol What are you doing this weekend? Any great projects planned? Speaking of planning...April is going to be a very special month here at Rusty Rooster Vintage. I'll be celebrating six months of blogging, over 500 followers and a very important announcement with an entire month of giveaways! Stay tuned my friends. This is going to be fun! Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate the time you spend here, your follows and your sweet comments.

I can't wait to hear your news!
I went shopping yesterday and bought a few things (surprise). Some charms and a rhinestone pin to use on my collages. I know the lady that owns this fabulous antiques and more shop and she asked me if I was interested in some buttons. She said she had about $80-90 worth of buttons that she would sell me for $10!! What? Screammmm!! Oh course, I will take them I told her! Oh, and some flashcards and some vintage baby chicks that would be cute in a nest or one of my tussie mussies! And they were (cheep)haha!
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Sonya

ReplyDeleteOHHHH, meant to tell you that your bunny looks like Brooke's bunny, maybe I'll work out some sort of trade with her and moss it to look like yours, love it!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful runners. I make those for our booth at Cameron day- they are quite easy but messy. It is that love/hate relationship with Burlap.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you have lined up for April. And love the little rabbit covered in moss.
I love your runner, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYep, you could make a bunch of ruffled table runners, just tear muslin strips and feed it through the sewing machine foot and magic ruffled strips!!

The table runner you photographed is lovely! I too have taken an interest in burlap...like linen it gives a feel of homespun charm, provided an added texture to a room...looking forward to your photos of the room!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting to 500 followers in such a short time. The burlap runner is gorgeous and so much easier than getting the sewing machine out. I'll check out her shop.
