I treated myself to a new console table in the foyer last week. The foyer, dining room and living room are one large open space. When we removed the living room couch and chairs, I swear you could suddenly hear an echo in here (echo in here). So, I moved the small hall table that was here and replaced it with this monster. I love the storage and the space to add a few special items.
Yes, I'm still a closet scrapper. I love this Prima paper that has the stitching already done for you. I try to do a page a month and display it on one of two easels we have in the house for artwork. I have been telling myself that I would cover this stark white clipboard with book pages for the past year. Maybe this weekend?Who believes me?
I do love this picture. We were helping Paul's Grandmother Lena celebrate her 100th birthday last March. She'll be 101 next month. She is amazing and still very independent. The wall above the new table is the perfect spot for one of my favorite mixed media book wreaths. I love to embellish the centers with vintage finds. On this one you'll find vintage lace and a skeleton key. I think I'll link this post to White Wednesday at Faded Charm and share my handmade whites!
Here's a close up of the new lamp and shade. I did not make this. I found it at Kirklands. I had a coupon and thought less work for me. I just love it.
A Basset Hound figurine is right at home here on the entry table. I found these vintage books at our local antique store. The colors are perfect for our home, and it add that subtle vintage touch you will find around here. Don't you love the pattern on the middle book? So, the new table helps fill the space and gives me some room to display artwork and vintage treasures that guests can see as soon as they walk in the door. It goes well with the studio too which is straight ahead. A definite improvement! How about you? What are you working on this week? I'm also linking this post to
The Boring to Better Party at Savvy Southern Style and Transformation Thursday at Shabby Chic Cottage. I hope you stop over at both parties for a visit. See you soon!

Nice console table and love the lamp. Great vignette and the end of that book is pretty. When I look for old books that is what I look for or the old leather ones that don't cost an arm and a leg. Thanks for joining the party.
ReplyDeleteVicki, this looks beautiful! What I like the most is how personal it feels~ the charming photo (I loved how you used the clipboard), the basset figurine, your wonderful wreath...everything just accentuates the lovely table and lamp perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI really like the book page wreath. Keep thinking I need to make one of those. Your vignette is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis book wreath is the prettiest one that I have seen so far. You make them special with the center area but I love the way you rolled the pages as well.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Vicki,
ReplyDeleteLove that new lamp and all of the buttons on it! You are really transforming that room!! I feel a craft night coming soon!!:) xo
I love what you're doing with the photos: what a great idea! The wreath is to die for. I've got to get around to making one of those. It looks like you inked the edges? Very nice! I'm kind of liking that the trend seems to be going back to stained furniture. I love white, but think it's sort of getting to be "old school."

Your entry way looks so elegant and welcoming! I really love the sweet touches you've added to make a lovely vignette! The scrapped page is great, I think it adds so much warmth and a feeling of love! I have a scrapped shadow box of my children in my foyer. I always hope that it gives the feeling of, "there is a family here that loves each other!" I definately get that feeling from the photos of your foyer! ;-) Thanks for sharing on White Wednesday!
