Here 's a little idea of how you could display these. What do you think?
Here's another one that I made. I have it displayed in a pint size mason jar that I have converted to a recipe holder. I love the size of this little guy! I used coffee beans as a filler. It is one of my favorites this time of year. I love the deep rich brown color and the smell! And last but not least...I displayed this one in a simple vintage flower frog. I have these all over my house. They hold pictures, postcards and now my altered vintage recipe cards!
Which one do you like best? Do you have any special handwritten recipes from a family member? I'd love to hear about it. Don't be shy, leave a comment if you have time. Remember that I am giving away three of the holiday themed recipe cards to my followers. See my previous post and link above to enter. I am going to link this post up tonight with White Wednesday over at Faded Charm Cottage. Stop by and see all the great decorating ideas, thrifty finds and creations!

These are too cute - what a great idea for old family recipes (copies, of course). Love your blog - am heading back now to check out more of your fun stuff!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I have handwritten recipe cards that were my mom's, great aunt's and grandma's. About 15 of them are clipped onto my curtain in the kitchen. You can see it here on my blog:

The pic is a little dark, but you can get the idea. I'd like to use more on the inside of my cupboards....
I love all of them and your blog. I think my favorite is the one in the flower frog. I'm your newest follower, so I'll be back to check out all your creations.
ReplyDeleteThese are all just lovely, Vicki! My daughter has several boxes of my mother-in-law's handwritten recipe cards!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have some of my mother's recipe cards as well as my aunt's and my grandmother's writing in a recipe book. Very comforting to cook from a recipe written in my mother's hand as we were very close and she's been gone for almost 11 years.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW,
Judy

ReplyDeleteMy lil man has calmed down on his bike over the last several months which I'm sort of glad about cuz seeing him fly around on that thing scares me!!!
These are so amazing. It's so neat how you can turn something small that most people these day's wouldn't think of as being too important, and transforming it into a true Artistic Heirloom. And your idea suggestions are great, Before I read further I was like "Wow, those are pretty, but how would I incorporate them?".... Thanks!
ReplyDeletePS: Oh, and Thanks for Stopping by Bender Oak Gifts!
I just love your blog and all your creativity! Using old recipe cards is a great idea! I have been on the lookout for skeleton keys, but never can find any. :(
